Who is Taniela Moa? Moa has passed away at an age of 36.
Taniela Moa was born on 11 March 1985-16 December 2021 in Tofua, Tonga. He was a Tongan Rugby union player who played as a scrum-half but he could also cover the Fly-half position.
His birth name is Unalotokipulotu Vea Teutau Moa.
Moa was educated at Onehunga High School, Southern Cross Campus. He went on to finish his final year of school at De La Salle College, Mangere East.
Taniela started playing for Auckland for two to three years. This was before moving to play for Bay of Plenty in the 2010 Air NZ cup competition.
The last team Moa played for is Section Paloise.
Taniela is however best remembered by the Tongan people for representing the Ikale Tahi at the 2011 RWC. The Ikale Tahi is the nickname for the Tonga national rugby union team. It represents Tonga in the men’s international rugby union.
The all-around, multi-talented full-back won 21 caps for his country between 2011 and 2015.

Former Tonga skipper Nili Latu said he was stunned and saddened when he heard of the news. He said, “I only saw him last week, we were shooting the Moana Pasifika video for the season and having a great laugh. Now, not knowing it was the last time I would see my brother, it is hard news to take in.”
