Kim Potter(age 48 years), is a 26-year veteran of the force. He has recently come into the limelight of media after shooting Daunte Wright, a 20-year old motorist.
Potter, 48, submitted her resignation, saying it was in the “best interest” of the department and community that she resign “immediately” after she shot Wright, an unarmed Black man, during a traffic stop on Sunday. (Police Chief Tim Gannon also submitted his resignation).

Kim was elected to represent her department’s officers as president of the Brooklyn Center Police Officers Association in 2019.
She was also a long-time member of the Minnesota Law Enforcement Memorial Association. Here she served on the “casket team,” an honor guard duty where she would function as a guard or pallbearer for law enforcement funerals.
Kim joined the police department in 1995 and was first licensed as a Brooklyn Center officer that same year—at age 22—working in the suburban Minnesota city of roughly 30,000 residents.
Potter has most recently been serving on the department’s negotiation team.

Kim Potter Trial; Found Guilty.
The jury in the manslaughter trial of former Minnesota police officer Kim Potter has found her guilty. Kim maintained that she made a mistake when she grabbed her gun, instead of her Taser.
Potter was found guilty of both of the charges she faced. The charge of first-degree and also second-degree manslaughter.
Kim’s bail was revoked and she was led from court in handcuffs.
Sentencing is due on 8 March 2022.
