From 1988 to 1989, he attended Lakewood Community College in Saint Paul where he earned his associate’s degree in law enforcement. From 1985 to 1988, he attended the University of Minnesota Duluth in Duluth, St. Louis County, Minnesota where he earned his associate’s degree in aerospace, aeronautical, and astronautical engineering.
Jeff was a police officer in Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota from June 1990 to February 2017.
From May 2005 to September 2008, he worked as a detective at the Anoka/Hennepin Narcotics and Violent Crimes Task Force, and From October 2008 to September 2011, he worked as a task force officer in the Drug Enforcement Administration of Minneapolis. In March 2017, Potter joined Allina Health in Minneapolis as a security officer. He started working as a corporate investigator at Allina Health In October 2017.
Jeff previously lived in Saint Paul, Minnesota with his wife.
He is married to Kimberly “Kim” A. Potter. He and Kim have two sons born in 1998 and in 2001.
