Following the Thursday shootout at Officers with the Newton elementary school which led to the tragic death of one student, the incident led to an in-depth investigation and thorough search for the perpetrators/suspect of the heinous act.
Earlier the Newton County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the shooting incident was not premeditated and might have been an accident and there was no active threat on the school grounds and later classified the shooting as “accidental.”
The suspect was later identified as a student of the same school and the case was purely not that of malice as but accident, Later was confirmed by Police Chief Randy Patrick who confirmed that a firearm from the suspected student backpack was discharged mistakenly at around 4.30 PM local time hitting another student who died later in the hospital receiving treatment.
The actual age of the young suspect is not yet identified but from various sites, the suspect is a teenager between the age bracket of 13 to 18.
The parents of the suspect are yet to be identified, soon to be updated.
The intention of the shooting
There was no intention to the shooting and the incident was pure accident and it was not premeditated.
The suspect was a student at Newton elementary school.
The suspect is not married he is still yet in school.
