Pat Studstill Biography and Career

Patrick Lewis Studstill Jr., best known as Pat Studstill, was born on June 4, 1938, in Shreveport, Louisiana, USA. He passed away on 16 October 2021 at the age of 83.

He was a former professional football player who was a punter and wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL). From 1961 to 1972, he played for the Detroit Lions, the Los Angeles Rams, and the New England Patriots.

  • 2x Pro Bowl (1965, 1966)
  • NFL receiving yards leader (1966)
  • NFL record 99-yard touchdown reception

Pat’s best year was playing was 1966. He was second in the NFL with 67 receptions and led the league with 1266 receiving yards.

Studstill also had acting credits on such TV shows as The Dukes of Hazzard, Magnum, P.I., and The Incredible Hulk.

Pat is also remembered for having been the last player, not to wear a Riddell facemask. He also was an avid golfer and rescue dog owner.

Studstill is survived by; his wife Rita, son, Pat III, daughters, Lisa and Shannon Studstill, and two grandchildren.
