Joseph Matthew Alwyn was born on 21 February 1991(age 30 years) in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, England.
CAREER
In early 2015, Alwyn was cast in the lead role of Ang Lee’s 2016 war drama, Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk, based on Ben Fountain’s novel. In 2017, he had a supporting role in the English drama film The Sense of an Ending.
In 2019, he co-starred as slave owner Gideon Brodess in the biographical award-winning drama Harriet, about abolitionist Harriet Tubman which had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on 10 September.
He will appear in The Souvenir Part II, the adaptation of Jojo Moyes’s book The Last Letter from Your Lover, and will star opposite Emma Mackey and Fionn Whitehead in the Emily Brontë biopic Emily.
