Why Android Apps keeps on crashing.

Apps including Google, Gmail, and Yahoo Mail are consistently shutting down for some users and most of them are reporting that their apps keep randomly crashing.

These issues are arising after Google pushed out a new version of Android System WebView, the Chrome-powered app which allows Android apps to display web content.

Google has now published a simple fix, which requires users to update the latter via the Google Play Store.

HOW TO UPDATE USING THE SIMPLE FIX VIA GOOGLE PLAY STORE

  • Head to Google Play Store, then to “My Apps & Games” in the top left of the screen.
  •  Click “Updates” and find the apps in the list.

Update them both and the issue should be resolved.

If this does not work,  remove the latest WebView update or uninstall WebView which will entirely fix the problem.

  • Go to Google Play Store > My Apps & Games > Installed and hitting “uninstall” when you find WebView.

You should then reboot your device and reinstall WebView.

If all this is achieved without a problem occurring, All your apps should work again as normal.
