Roger  Michell is a British theatre, television, and film director. He was born on 5th June 1956 (age 65 years), in Pretoria, South Africa.

He directed films such as Notting Hill and Venus, as well as the 1995 made-for-television film Persuasion.

Roger passed away on  22nd September 2021, at the age of 65.

Michell was married to the actress Kate Buffery(m. 1992–2002).

His two children from this marriage are the agent Rosanna Michell and the writer, director, and actor Harry Michell.

After his divorce from Buffery, he married Anna Maxwell Martin(m. 2002–2020). Martin confirmed their separation in 2020.

Michell and Anna had two daughters, Maggie and Nancy in the span of their marriage.
