Kovacic and Hakim Ziyech Injury Update.
Following an impressive win against LOSC Lille in the first leg of the round of 16 UEFA Champions League stage, Chelsea will be looking to finish off the tie with a better goal margin.
However, Chelsea will be currently set on their next game against Liverpool for the EFL Cup Final, this Sunday. The squad might however not include the duo; Kovacic and Ziyech.
The two picked up an injury during the game against Lille and the gaffer had to pull them out of the fixture. Loftus-Cheek came in the 51st minute for Kovacic while Saul Niguez replaced Hakim in the 60th minute, notably ahead of favorites, Mason Mount and Timo Werner.
Kovacic and Hakim have arguably become a part of Tuchel’s long-term game plan, for Chelsea and the couple both limping off the field, shortly after their brawls with Lille players, actually proves how essential they are to Tuchel.
The extent of the injuries of both players is yet to be determined.
