Kimera Anotchi Bartee was born on 21 July 1972, Omaha, Nebraska, United States. The 49-year-old is reported to have passed away on Monday.
Kimera was a former American professional baseball outfielder and coach.
Bartee was selected by the Baltimore Orioles in the 14th round of the 1993 MLB Draft. They however traded him to the Minnesota Twins on September 19, 1995.
He went on to make his Major League debut with the Detroit Tigers on April 3, 1996. He also played his last game for the Tigers on August 3, 2001
In 2003 and 2004, He earned All-Star honors, and later in 2004, he earned an Atlantic League championship with the Long Island Ducks.
Kimera started coaching in 2017 for the Pittsburgh Pirates and also the Philadelphia Phillies. This was before rejoining the Tigers in 2021.

Bartee died after collapsing while visiting his father in Omaha on 20th December 2021. He is survived by his father Jerry, his fiancé Terri and children Andrew, Amari, and Taeja.
Tigers general manager Al Avila was first in line to send her condolences. Avila said, “All of us in the Tigers baseball family were shocked and saddened.”
