Following it’s first menu addition, Burger King has introduced alot of other products some of which have failed to catch the American market but have in turn amazed the overseas markets. From 2002-2010 the companys has been targeting the young adults of the 18-34 age bracket with goods containing alot of unhealth fats. By 2011, 3G Capital’s restructuring plan forced the company to move away from this male-structured menu.

As of December 31, 2018, Burger King reported it had 17,796 outlets in 100 countries all over the globe and of those outlets nearly 50% were located in the USA while 99.7% were privately owned and runned. Burger King has historically used several variations of franchising  to expand its operations. However it’s relationship with its franchises has not always been harmonious. Occasional spats between the two have caused numerous issues, and in several instances, the company’s and its licensees’ relations have degenerated into precedented court settling cases.

NOTE:Burger King’s Australian franchise Hungry Jack’s  is the only franchise to operate under a different name, due to a trademark dispute and a series of legal cases between the two.
